“Go Forth and Serve”

Testimony Meeting & Course Review

Practical activities (Spring)
  • Teaching a five-minute lesson
  • Giving a one-minute testimony
  • Practicing invitations
  • Teaching with only the scriptures
  • Practicing first contacts
  • Handling difficult questions
  • Teaching through role play
  • Companion planning
General approach

Returned missionaries are invited most weeks for a short discussion of their mission and a testimony related to that week’s topic — for example, “Why I Decided to Serve,” “My Hardest Week,” or “What I Wish I Had Known at 16” in the fall, and demonstrated teaching or practiced first contacts in the spring.

Fall classes build toward weekly commitments that lead to a mission; spring classes build in hands-on practice to prepare for one.
